Fused Glass "Date Night"
An introductory class where you will learn, practice, and create a fused glass piece!
Service Description
Students can create a 8 x 8 in. flat tile, or a set of four 3.5 x 3.5 in. coasters. Class Topics: Safety Rules- 1. Students learn glass handling safety 2. Appropriate us of the various tools used for fused glass work. 3. Use of needed eye-wear. Base skills- 1. Understanding the different glass types (COE and Translucent v. Opalescent). 2. Mastering glass cutting (cutting tools, running pliers, nippers, breaking pliers) and cutting guides. 3. Glass layout and learning the "6mm rule". 4. Understand the various ways to accessorize your glass (frit, dots, stringers). Heating and Kiln Process- 1. Know the difference in preventing thermal shock v. fully annealing your glass. 2. Understand the various steps in a kiln firing schedule. 3. Learn firing schedules in order to tack, contour, or fulling fused layered glass. Classes are 2 hours maximum. Pieces are fired overnight and we will contact you when your art is ready to go home!

Cancellation policy: If you need to cancel a reserved session you will need to contact us by phone at least 24 hours prior to the session you have reserved. We can either 1) choose another session date and/or time or, 2) refund your deposit (if one is required)
