Darkhorse Art & Glassworks
About Us!
Our adventure in glass began when our girls wanted to try a beadmaking class that was being given at a Society for Creative Anachronisms (SCA). It was a fun day and the girls were wanting to try more of it so we ended up buying a basic starter kit and as they say, the rest is history. Now, some 20 years later, Donna and I have kept on our work in glass slowly expanding into work beyond lamp work beads. Now that we have settled in North Carolina, we are setting up a shop and expanding just a bit more and have started working on new items, So stay tuned in!

Merced
Currently unretiring as a teacher, Merced began making lamp work glass beads. He has explored making marble, but his currently excitement has fallen to vitrograph canes and using them to create fused glasswork. The other area is based on the work of the Blasckas and experimenting with wire structure glass pieces.

Donna
Donna has been mostly focused on fusing and slumping glass. Recently, she has been doing work that is based on "Cutting on the edge" to create more detailed work. She has also had fun with suspended glass painting on some of her slumped works as well.
